Best Logo Generators: Top 10 Ranked

  • Felix Rose-Collins
  • 11 min read

Intro

A logo design is an essential element for any business or website. It’s also an essential ingredient for almost any type of marketing, whether digital or traditional marketing. For example, logo designs are used on just about everything from Instagram posts to email signatures and invoices. You might print a logo on business cards or on a t-shirt.

These days, most entrepreneurs or small businesses use an online logo maker or AI logo generator to create a strong logo when starting a new venture. But it can be hard to choose which service to use for your logo - because there are many options.

In this blog post, we’re reviewing the top 10 best logo generators in the world - and we’ve ranked them based on a mixture of logo quality, number of logo options, speed of generation and price.

To help with the accuracy of the rankings, we’ve tested the top 10 logo generators using a fictional business (“Felix & Friends Organic Coffee”).

Below are our rankings after our review of each logo generator, including example logos generated by each logo maker and our conclusion on the #1 logo generator in the world.

1. Design.com

Design.com’s logos were the best (along with BrandCrowd’s) by a long way. Design.com generated thousands of logos in seconds. There was a range of styles (minimalist, mascot, hipster, vintage, emblem, abstract), the fonts were high quality, the layouts were good and the icons were super high quality and unique.

2. BrandCrowd

BrandCrowd is one of the premier logo makers in the world and is neck and neck with Design.com - for us it comes in on the rankings as the #2 best logo maker.

Example Logos from BrandCrowd:

logo

BrandCrowd’s generated logos were unique, diverse and incredibly high quality. It took seconds to generate pages and pages of logo options.

Summary

  • For us, BrandCrowd is clearly second best overall logo maker. BrandCrowd and Design.com are lightyears ahead of the competition.

3. Canva

Canva, the unicorn online design company, is a broad design platform that is very capable of logos.

Example Logos from Canva:

logo

Canva’s generated logos (using their Magic Design feature) were minimalist, well laid out with nice fonts and AI-generated taglines. However, the style was limited, only a few options were presented, and none of the icons felt really specific to the industry (in this case, coffee).

Review of Canva:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • 100,000>
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 7/10
  • G2 Review Score:
    • 4.7 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • <10 seconds
    • Just enter a prompt or browse templates
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 8 (using Canva’s Magic Design feature)
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • Yes (many free logo templates)
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes
    • 50+ other design tools
    • Canva is a broad design platform with a massive library of templates and a broad set of features

Summary of Canva:

  • Canva’s logo template library size is big with >100,000 logo templates (and second only to Design.com and BrandCrowd), it’s quick to browse logo templates or generate logos and Canva offer a wide selection of free logos.
  • But despite the library size the generated logo options can still feel limited in particular industries or styles (see examples above).
  • Logos isn’t Canva’s speciality as a company - but Canva is very capable of helping you with a loog and Canva is probably the best for free logos (as they seem to have the most free options).

Smashing Logo is a small logo generator company.

Example Logos from Smashing Logo:

logo

Smashing logo presented one logo option at the end of their process (shown above). It’s professional, relevant to the industry.

**Review **of Smashing Logo:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • None
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 7/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 3.1 stars … but they only have 31 reviews which is a pretty small sample
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • 2 minutes>
    • Multiple steps and wait time while generating
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 1
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • Limited.
    • You can download a watermarked version for ‘free’ on Smashin Logo - but that’s not really free like you can get on Design.com, BrandCrowd or Canva’s free options - which are properly free with no watermark)
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes a few tools (including a QR code generator) but limited
    • No website builder
    • Smashing logo is not a broad design platform like Design.com or Canva

Summary of Smashing Logo:

  • Smashing Logo is a good logo generator that can help you get a professional logos. They’ve put effort and thought into their product.
  • But Smashing Logo has some weaknesses:
    • It’s a bit slow to use (multiple steps that take a few minutes before you see a logo)
    • You only get a 1 logo generated to review
    • The logos are good but not great (like Design.com)
    • The logo editor software is very limited (if you want to refine your logo)
    • Their free logo option is watermarked
    • Their premium option is overpriced
    • Limited other design tools (e.g. no website builder)

5. Looka

Looka is a logo generator that used to be called Logojoy. It’s been around for a long time, so it has a track record in the market.

Example Logos from Looka:

logo

Looka’s logos were minimalist and simple. Some of them were hard to read, some were repetitive in style. Overall, they were professional but not super impressive or diverse.

Review of Looka:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • None
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 6/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 4.5 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • 2 minutes>
    • Multiple steps and wait time while generating
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 100>
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • No
    • Looka advertise ‘free’ - but you cannot download a logo for free.
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes - 20+ design tools including website builder, business cards, email signature, social media covers
    • But Looka is not a comprehensive design platform like Design.com, BrandCrowd or Canva

Summary of Looka:

  • Looka’s logos are simple and professional and Looka offers many design tools after a logo.
  • But Looka has some weaknesses:
    • The logos aren’t amazing - they’re not very unique. Looka’s icons look like clip art / stock vectors and we suspect they use The Noun Project.
    • Looka does not seem to have its own library of logo templates that you can browse.
    • It’s not free to download a logo. Looka says in its advertising that it’s free - and you can play around for free - but there is no option to download a logo for free. This is very different to free options on Design.com, BrandCrowd and Canva - which offer genuinely free logos to download (without a watermark).
    • The logo editing tool is very limited.

6. Brandmark

Brandmark is a small logo generator service.

Example Logos from Brandmark:

logo

Brandmark logos were mostly relevant to the industry and well laid out. Sometimes, the icon was a bit off (like the snake logo above), and the font/text treatment was a bit odd.

Review of Brandmark:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • None
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 5/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 4.5 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • <1 minute
    • Multiple steps and wait time while generating
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 100>
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • No
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes - some additional tools including website builder, business cards, email signature, social media covers
    • But not a full design platform like Canva or Design.com or Adobe Express

Summary of Brandmark:

  • Brandmark’s logos are professional but not super high quality or unique. The layout of the logos was solid.
  • Brandmark has many weaknesses:
    • The logos aren’t amazing - they’re not very unique. Like Looka, many of Brandmark’s icons look like clip art / stock vectors and we suspect they use The Noun Project.
    • Brandmark’s fonts are a bit weird and don’t feel high-quality.
    • Brandmark does not seem to have its own library of logo templates that you can browse.
    • It’s not free to download a logo.
    • Website builder is one-page only.

7. Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands is a business-in-a-box company that offers LLC services as well as logos.

Example Logos from Tailor Brands:

logo

Tailor Brands logos were simple and professional. They generated a handful of logos after a multi-step process that took a few minutes.

Review of Looka:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • None
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 5/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 4.3 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • 2 minutes>
    • Multiple steps and wait time while generating
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 10-20
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • No
    • Looka advertise ‘free’ - but you cannot download a logo for free.
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes - many tools inlcuding website builder, digital business card, branded presentation
    • But Tailor Brands is not a comprehensive design platform like Design.com or Canva or Adobe Express

Summary of Tailor Brands:

  • Tailor Brands logos are simple and professional and they offer many design tools after a logo.
  • But Tailor Brands has some weaknesses:
    • The logos aren’t amazing - they’re not very unique. Like Looka, Tailor Brands icons look like clip art and we hypothesiee they use The Noun Project for their logo icons.
    • Also like Looka, Tailor Brands does not seem to have its own library of logo templates that you can browse.
    • It’s not free to download a logo.
    • The logo editing tool is very limited.

8. Adobe Express

Adobe Express is Adobe’s online design platform that competes with Design.com and Canva. It offers logos as well as a broad range of other

Example Logo from Adobe Express:

logo

Adobe presented a few (4) simple logo options that it generated - and you could view one at a time.

Review of Brandmark:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • 2000>
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 5/10
  • G2 Review Score:
    • 4.5 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • <1 minute
    • Multiple steps
    • But they do have a library you can browse
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 4
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • Yes
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes
    • Adobe Express is a broad design platform with many options
    • Including website builder, business cards, email signature, social media covers

Summary of Adobe Express:

  • Adobe Express offer a powerful design editing tool and a broad design platform.
  • But Adobe Express generated logos were average and the product only presented a small number of options.
  • When it comes to logos, Adobe Express has a few weaknesses:
    • The logos aren’t amazing.
    • The logo library is small - just over 2,000 logo templates.
    • The layout of the logos was average (see example above - logo isn’t centered, weird spacing between icon and text).

Turbo Logo is a small logo generator company.

Example Logos from Turbo Logo:

logo

Turbo Logo generated pages and pages of logo options. Above are a few examples. Overall, they’re relevant for the industry of our fictional business but pretty average in terms of quality.

Review of Brandmark:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • None
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 4/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 4.1 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • <1 minute
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 100>
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • Yes
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes - some additional tools, including a website builder, social media posts and letterhead.
    • But Turbo Logo is clearly not a full design platform like Canva or Design.com or Adobe Express.

Summary of Turbo Logo:

  • Turbo Logo generates relevant logos - but they’re super basic.
  • Turbo Logo comes it at number 9 on the list but we wouldn’t recommend using them.

10. LogoMaker.com

LogoMaker.com has been around for many years and it rounds out the top 10 list.

Example Logos from LogoMaker.com:

logo

LogoMaker.com generated many logo options (hundreds). Some had nice icons but some of the icons were really low quality and the fonts felt very basic.

Review of LogoMaker.com:

  • # of Logo Templates in Library:
    • 2000>
  • Quality of Logos:
    • 3/10
  • Trustpilot Review Score:
    • 2.2 stars
  • Speed (time to generate logos):
    • <1 minute
  • # of Initial Logo Options Generated:
    • 100>
  • Free Logo Download Option:
    • Limited.
    • You can download a super fuzzy, low-res version of your logo on LogoMaker.com. Not really a full free logo download like you can get on Canva or Design.com or Adobe.
  • Other Design Tools:
    • Yes - some additional tools.
    • But LogoMaker.com is not a full design platform like Canva or Design.com or Adobe Express

Summary of LogoMaker.com:

  • Many of LogoMaker.com’s logo templates are low quality and LogoMaker.com’s Trustpilot review scores are low (and this reflects their below average product).
  • LogoMaker.com barely scrapes into the top 10.

BONUS: Logo Generators NOT in the Top 10 …

Logo.com

Logo.com’s logos were very disappointing. They have good customer reviews on Trustpilot, they do offer a free download option and they offer access to some related design tools after the logo. But overall they didn’t make the top 10.

Example Logos from Logo.com:

logo

Logomakr

Logomakr’s logo maker was terrible. Someitmes there was no text or it was unreadable. The icon looked more like a photo than a logo. The fonts were terrible. Logomakr does not make the top 10.

Shopify Logo Maker (formerly Hatchful.com) … The Worst!

Shopify’s logo maker was terrible. It could not handle an amersand in the logo text (presenting this as ‘&amp’ in the logo text) and it cut off the logo text (Ca instead of “Cafe”). Shopify’s logo maker (which used to be called Hatchful) is listed in many top 10 logo maker listicles - but in 2025 this is no longer accurate. Hatchful is dead (it no longer exists) and Shopify’s logo generator is really, really bad (full of bugs, and low quality logos).

Example Logos from Shopify’s Logo Maker (formerly Hatchful):

logo

Conclusion: Design.com is the #1 logo generator

A strong logo is a key ingredient for a business or a website. Based on the analysis above, Design.com is the clear #1 logo generator in the world. BrandCrowd is a close second followed by Canva. After that, there’s a big gap to the rest, when it comes to logos.
